The Reykjanes peninsula is within an hour drive from Reykjavik.

In this tour you can experiencing the magic of this youngest part of our country, a high geothermal activity, volcanoes and endless lavafields. This is the place where we can basically walk over the bridge between two continents, from North America to Europe. Here the North Atlantic ridge rises from the ocean.

First we drive through Keflavik. If you are interested, we can stop and visit the Viking World, a wiking Age museum. We continue the journey and drive through Gardur, a small fishing village, to Sandvík. On the way we pass a beautiful little church, Hvalnes church.

At Sandvík you can see where the Nort American and Eurasian tectonic plates are drifting apart. There you can walk over a small bridge connecting the plates known as the bridge between continents.

Our next stop is at Reykjanes lighthouse. It stands on a hill above the sea cliffs where the Atlantic ridge rises above sea-level.

We will visit Gunnuhver, a hot spring in a geothermal area in Reykjanes where a lot of steem rises from the ground.

From Gunnuhver we continue towards Grindavík a small willage where people have depended on fishing for centuries. On the way we stopp at Brimketill, a peculiar pool in the coastline. It was created by constant friction of the ocean by the lava rocks.

Not far from Grindavík is The Blue Lagoon, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Iceland. We stop there so you can have a look at it. But if you want to spend time in the Lagoon you need to book it in advance. The driver will wait for you for an additional price depending on the time spent in the Lagoon.

Our goal is to meet people’s wishes so changing a plan slightly is not a problem for us. We can offer extra stops on the way if you like.
