• Private South Iceland

  Your tour will begin with a pick-up from your accommodation in Reykjavík, where you will board a comfortable vehicle and set off on your journey. Along the way, you will pass through picturesque villages and farmland, with dramatic mountain peaks and glaciers looming in the distance.

  Your first stop will be the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can walk behind the cascading water for a truly unique perspective. Next, you will visit the Skógafoss waterfall, one of the largest and most powerful waterfalls in Iceland. Take a moment to admire the power of the water as it thunders down into the gorge below.

  Continuing along the coast, you will visit the black sand beach of Reynisfjara, renowned for its dramatic basalt columns and sea stacks. Keep an eye out for puffins and other seabirds that nest in the area.

  If you are interested in learning more about Iceland’s volcanic activity, you can visit the LAVA Centre, an interactive museum that tells the story of Iceland’s geological history.

  As you continue your journey, you will pass by the Sólheimajökull glacier, where you can take an optional privately guided glacier hike and, if you’re feeling brave, do some ice climbing.

  • Katla Geopark: Learn about Iceland’s volcanic activity and see stunning craters and lava fields.
  • Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and the Diamond Beach: See the icebergs floating in the lagoon and take in the beauty of the famous Diamond Beach known for it’s crystal ice sculptures. This add-on will make it a long day (think 14-16 hours total), but if you’re up for it you won’t regret it!
  • Skaftafell Nature Reserve: Go for a hike in the Skaftafell Nature Reserve and see Svartifoss waterfall, which is surrounded by black basalt columns.
  • Sólheimajökull Glacier: Take a guided glacier hike or ice climbing tour on the Sólheimajökull glacier.

  • Plane Wreck: Visit the wreckage of a US Navy DC-3 plane that crashed in Sólheimasandur in 1973.
