Golden Circle + South Coast + Nothern Lights (combo)
If you only have one day but want to see some of the most beautiful places in Iceland choose our combo tour. Addctionaly - if the weather permits, the Northern Lights can be seen on the way back to Reykjavik!
On our Private Luxury Golden Circle and South Coast Combo Tour, you will get the opportunity to see the most famous tourist destinations in Iceland all in one day. If you only have a limited amount of time in Iceland, this is a wonderful trip to take. It combines the two most popular Icelandic itineraries, bringing you to some of the country's most stunning locations while providing all of the conveniences of a private trip and the luxury of our jeep.
We pick you up from your hotel in Reyjavik and begin driving along the magnificent Nesjavallaleið road, from where you can enjoy stunning views of mountains, volcano craters, and Þingavallavatn, Iceland's biggest natural lake (Nesjavallaleið is closed throughout the winter months and in the event of extreme weather. Our route will be altered accordingly should this be the case).
We stop in Þingvellir (or Thingvellir) National Park to view the split formed by the European and North American tectonic plates spreading apart. The park was also used as a filming site for various Game of Thrones sequences. You have enough time to visit some areas of the park and see the stunning Öxarárfoss waterfall. We also make a quick stop to see the Silfra snorkeling area.
Our luxury jeep tour proceeds from Þingvellir to the famed Geysir hot spring region, where Strokkur geyser erupts every 8-10 minutes. You can feel the strength of Icelandic nature as you wander about the region and photograph the hot springs before heading to Gullfoss, the golden waterfall, one of Iceland's most magnificent waterfalls, located in a spectacular canyon.
We head closer to one of Iceland's most active volcanoes, Hekla, which was regarded in the Middle Ages as the "gateway to hell" as we drive around the renowned Ring Road.
Our Private Luxury Jeep Tour of the Golden Circle and South Coast continues with the wonderful sight of two of Iceland's most popular and beautiful waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. On a sunny day, rainbows may be seen over the waterfalls, making the places even more magical and stunning.
Another Icelandic volcano visible from the Ring Road is the famed Eyjafjallajökull, which erupted in 2010 and disrupted air traffic across Europe. Driving along the Ring Road in the South Coast of Iceland, you will be able to see the silvery glacier on one side of the road and the long southern coastline line to the horizon on the other.
Solheimajökull is our next stop. We stroll for around 10-15 minutes to the glacier tongue's edge to observe its beautiful blue, black, and white ice. Because of its proximity to other volcanoes, Solheimajökull has gotten the dark stratified look that makes it so fascinating to admire.
Then we head to Dyrhólaey promontory to observe Iceland's wide coastline lines from a higher vantage point, and to Reynisfjara, which enchants visitors for its black sand beaches, sea stacks, and basalt columns. Puffin colonies may be found near the Dyrhólaey cliffs in the summer, and you may even get a glimpse of these lovely birds that have become a symbol for Iceland.
If you join our Private Luxury Golden Circle and South Coast Combo Jeep Tour in the winter (September-March), we will stop and try to see the Northern Lights before returning to Reykjavik, weather permitting.
