What to expect
Geothermal Exhibition
- We will begin the tour at the Geothermal Exhibition just outside of Reykjavik city.
- The Geothermal Exhibition Tour is an audio guide for ease of exploring the displays.
Kerið Crater
- Explore this 6500-year-old volcanic crater in the heart of the Golden Circle.
- The beautiful crater lake in the center has been formed by the collapsing of the volcanic chamber and should not be missed.
Lunch at Friðheimar Tomato Farm
- You will learn sustainable farming works in Iceland.
- You will enjoy a tasty tomato or mushroom-based menu for lunch, before going to the world’s first Geysir hot spring that was ever noted in print – and then gave the name to all the rest!.
- Friðheimar is also an Icelandic horse breeding farm, so you will also get a chance to meet these photogenic horses.
Geysir
- The 100ft shooting Geysir Hot-spring will take your breath away as it showers you in warm water.
- It is surrounded by bubbling springs, which you will have the chance to explore with your guide.
Gullfoss Waterfall
- Iceland’s most well-known waterfall, Gullfoss, has a staggering 141 tons of water flowing over its edges per minute – be prepared to get wet!.
Þingvellir National Park
- We will complete our Golden Circle tour with a visit to the stunning Thingvellir National Park.
- It is the only UNESCO World Heritage site located directly on the dividing tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia.
