This 6 – 8 hour private tour takes you on the most popular excursion route in Iceland. You will experience waterfalls, hot springs and geysers, marvel at large cracks created by continental drift, see the effects of earthquakes and try delicious Icelandic ice cream. The tour is led by an experienced local guide who will give you expert information about the sights, but also a lot of information about the country and its people.
We can provide Guides that speak the following languages: English, German and Dutch. Other languages on request.
In the greenhouse town of Hveragerði, we stop at the local shopping center. There we visit a fissure that was created during an earthquake.
The Kerið crater is a 55m deep mar that was created by a volcanic eruption about 6,500 years ago.
Gullfoss is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country, if not the most beautiful. The river Hvitá falls in two stages into a narrow gorge.
The next stop is at the Haukadalur geothermal area, where the famous geyser is located. The geyser’s namesake is rarely active, but the eruptions of the Strokkur geyser, which are up to 25 meters high, can be experienced every 5 to 10 minutes. The stay is long enough for you to see the numerous hot springs and several eruptions of the Strokkur.
There is a possibility for a Lunch break at the local Restaurant or Cafeteria.
Brúarfoss waterfall is famous for its exceptionally vibrant turquoise-blue water color, caused by mineral-rich springs in the river. The water of Brúarfoss falls in several stages over a varied landscape of lava rock, creating a breathtaking panorama.
Short stop at the Efsti-Dalur farm, where there is an ice cream factory that makes ice cream from the milk of the farm’s own cows.
Icelanders love ice cream at any time of the day and you have the opportunity to find out why Icelandic ice cream is so popular.
There are numerous hot springs in and around Lake Laugarvatn.
We stop at the lake shore and see several hot springs that are also used for baking bread.
If you are dependent on a walker or wheelchair, please contact us before booking.
The paths at the sights we visit are mostly suitable for travelers with limited mobility.
