Private transportation
After driving over the Hellisheiði plateau, which is a vast geothermal area, characterized by its numerous hot springs, steaming vents, and volcanic activity, we drive past the village of Hveragerði direction east along the south coast.
Hveragerði or “Hot Spring Town” is nestled in a geothermal area. The village is known for its abundance of hot springs and natural geothermal pools, which are a result of its proximity to the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, a tectonic boundary that passes through Iceland.
- As this is a 10-hour tour it is good to bring snacks. But as this is a private tour we can stop to buy food and drinks along the way.
- Good outdoor hiking shoes are recommended.
