The upper part of the West Rangá is famous for its exceptionally large brown trout. The Trout Beat stretches for about 30 km of double-bank fishing, offering a variety of flat pools, pockets, and fast-water runs. It is one of the few places in Iceland where anglers have a real chance of catching a 10-pound brown trout.
In autumn, there is also a chance to encounter Atlantic salmon in the system.
Pick-up and drop-off services are always included in our tours at no extra charge within the capital region.
If guests prefer to drive to the location themselves, we recommend setting the meeting point at West Rangá Lodge.
An additional charge will apply if the pick-up location is outside the Reykjavík area or not on the way to the river.

We will be outside all day, so please dress appropriately for changing weather conditions. Icelandic summer can bring sunshine, rain, wind, or even snow — all in the same day!
Parents are responsible for their children during the tour. That said, many of our young guests are first-time anglers catching their very first fish — A great experience that everyone remembers throughout their life.
