Northern Lights & Stargazing in a small group
We pick you up and whisk you away from the city lights to where we predict the best sightings according to meteorology and space weather data. We aim to get off the beaten path and away from crowds to enjoy the Northern Lights in serenity. At our chosen spot, while waiting for the lights, we use our powerful stargazing telescope to explore crude details of the planets in our solar system, their moons and deep space phenomena light years away.*

Your Chances of Seeing the Northern Lights with Happyworld
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and as such can never be guaranteed. For a successful sighting we need three things to come together: solar wind, darkness and at least a partly clear sky. We maximise our chance of success by being exceptionally good at the first step of Northern Lights searching: understanding weather. That, combined with experience, makes our success rate a whopping 90%.

When the chances of a sighting are low we cancel the tour and offer you a free re-schedule or a full refund.

If we do not see the Northern Lights on your tour you are welcome to join us again for free, as often as needed within 2 years.

Tour Details

We make our Go/NoGo decision as late as 18:30 each day based on the most recent weather data, and e-mail all guests a confirmation either way.

We pick you up from your doorstep anywhere in city center.

We drive out of the city lights to where we predict the best viewing conditions. There we assess the conditions and make a decision to stay or keep searching.

If we have a good visibility we explore the nightsky with our telescope.*

We take photos of you under the Northern Lights.*

Late evening we serve Icelandic traditional home made hot chocolate and pastry.

Tour duration: 3-5 hours, depending on conditions

Heat pads are a brilliant idea.
Photography: We take photos of everyone for free. If you are bringing your own camera we will happily assist with which settings to choose but you need to be comfortable with your buttons and menu.

Warmer pads: provide external warmth for 5 to 8 hours.

*Please note: The Northern Lights, or their magnitude, can never be guaranteed. Stargazing conditions depend on several factors like cloudiness, humidity and wind. Objects visible on the night sky depend on Earths position in its orbit around the Sun. Should we not see Northern Lights on your tour you are welcome to join us again for free as often as needed to see the lights, within 2 years.
