Lónsöræfi: A Super Jeep Tour
Vatnajökull National Park
Super jeep tour from Höfn to Evilsridge in Lónsöræfi, which is one of the pearls of the Vatnajökull National Park. The landscape is breath taking and an adventure for the senses. Photographic opportunities are uncountable.
To go to Evilsridge we must pass the river Skyndidalsá, so if the river is impassable, we take a sightseeing tour to Hvannagil canyon in Stafafellsmountains.
If we go to the canyon, due to impassable river, we go from there to Skutafoss waterfall and then onwards to Horn, where we witness majestic mountains rising from the black sand beach.
The tour is about 4-5 hours.
- Drive in a super.
- A local English speaking guide.
Dreparture at 9 from the N1 parking lot in Höfn.
Drive to Lón, pass the river Skyndidalsá, drive up to Evilsridge that overlooks Lónsöræfi.
Drive back to Höfn.
In case the river is impassable, we drive to Hvannagil canyon in Stafafellsmountains .
From there we drive to Skútafoss and then onwards to Horn.
From Horn we go back to Höfn.
- Outdoor clothing based on weather conditions at the time of the trip. Such as hat, gloves, rain coats, etc.
- Good shoes, hiking shoes are best in this landscape but this tour does not involve a lot of hiking.
