LAVA Centre is a world class, interactive exhibition on the Icelandic geology, it’s volcanoes and earthquakes.
The Lava Centre is an interactive, high-tech educational exhibition depicting volcanic activity, earthquakes and the creation of Iceland over millions of years. The full experience includes a movie showing the latest eruptions in Iceland including the notorious Eyjafjallajökull and the most recent at Fagradalsfjall, an observation deck where one can see the major volcanoes surrounding the exhibition such as Eyjafjallajökull, Hekla, Katla and Westman Islands (Heimaey).
The exhibition shows the volcanic eruption history in Iceland, the main reasons for the amazing activity on the island, shows the massive mantle plume (Hot Spot) under a big part of the country and all the major volcanos erupting in an amazing 270° experience with interactive features.
No other exhibition in Iceland has received as many awards and honours. It is on Trip Advisors Travelers Choice for 2020.
