This trip is a glacier hiking adventure where you get to see stunning sceneries, a geothermal river and so much more. You will stay in a remote mountain hut next to the glacier. This one is for the little more advanced hikers as the hiking part is rated challenging. On this tour, you get to experience the great variety of nature.

Day 1. 10 hrs.

Day 1:
We leave Egilsstaðir early in the morning and head for the highlands and take the F931 to Kárahnúkar dam and Hálslón reservoir. Continuing with a few interesting stops on our way we arrive at Kverkfjöll around noon. A few minutes drive before taking a short walk to visit the glacier and the geothermal river Volga. A short evening hike to Mt.Virkisfell next to the hut gives a great view over the magnificent scenery.
Day 2:
This is a full day glacier adventure in the west part of the mountains. We visit the geothermal areas in Hveradalur valley before reaching the highpoint at 1.800 meters above sea level. A truly stunning scenery ! This one is well worth the effort and simply unforgettable.
Day 3:
After leaving Kverkfjöll around noon we make a stop at Hvannalindir, a beautiful oasis in the desert. Taking a different route back we make a refreshment stop on our way to Egilsstaðir.
Good hiking shoes, rain gear, warm clothes, sleeping bag, backpack, meals and drinks.
