It is filled with icebergs of all of all shapes and sizes and although most of the icebergs are white, some of them are beautiful blue, ash gray and even completely clear like glass.
The beauty of the lake and surrounding landscape has not gone unnoticed by the film industry. Scenes from several Hollywood films have been filmed there, for example: Tomb Raider, Batman Begins, and two James Bond films, A View to a Kill and Die Another Day.
Located near the glacier lagoon is the Diamond Beach. It is a black sand beach where the icebergs which fill the glacier lagoon wash up on shore, creating a unique contrast with the volcanic black sand.
