On this tour you will travel to Langjökull glacier where you will get to drive a snowmobile and explore one of the world‘s largest man made ice caverns. The caverns are composed of an extensive system of tunnels and chambers that stretch close to 300 metres into the solid ice cap towards a breathtaking natural Ice Cave at the heart of the glacier.

On the way to the ice cave, we will visit the most powerful hot spring in Europe, Deildartunguhver, where most of the water used for central heating in the surrounding towns comes from.

Lunch break will be taken at a place called Húsafell Bistro before we continue our way to the glacier.

After the lunch break you will be driven to a place called Jaki, by the edge of the glacier, which is the base camp for the snowmobiles and there you will suit up for the snowmobiling and get a helmet. From there you then start the snowmobiling tour with a specialized guide and you'll drive on the glacier up to the Ice Cave.

Once you reach the Ice Cave you will make your way inside the glacier where you’ll be able to explore various nooks and chambers and walk over a huge ice crevasse on a specially constructed bridge. As you walk further along the tunnel, the ice gets older and its colour gradually changes from white to deep-blue.

In every chamber you will find interesting information about the glacier on display and for those who would like to get married in the ice cave there's even a small Ice Chapel!

After you have explored the Ice Cave you will go on the snowmobiles again and head back to the base camp Jaki from where you will be driven back to Húsafell.

On our way back from Langjokull glacier, before our journey back to Reykjavik. You’ll stop by the beautiful Hraunfossar waterfalls. Here, water tinged pale blue with glacial sediment tumbles over ancient lava fields to give a picture-perfect end to the day.
