On this unique day tour from Skaftafell – Vatnajokull National Park, you get to visit a beautiful ice cave only accessible to the brave.

The cave is located at one of the outlet glaciers of Vatnajokull, but in order to visit it you will have to traverse the heavily crevassed glacier. Once there, you get to spend enough time inside the cave to fully take in its beauty and the guide will be happy to assist you in getting the perfect photograph of the blue ice.

The hike to the cave is equally stunning, with high glacial ridges and beautiful ice formations you will pass on your way to and from the cave.

The tour starts and ends at the Icelandic Mountain Guides Base in Skaftafell, where you will board the Glacier Bus that takes you to the glacier terminal face. The whole tour takes about 5.5 hours, with 4.5 hours on the ice.
