On this Golden Circle Day Tour, you will experience all the best that Iceland has to offer. Everything between the mountains and the ocean: glacial rivers, beautiful landscapes, waterfalls, geothermal areas and wild Icelandic scenery.
We set off on this tour by traveling through mountains that separate Reykjavik area from the south. The drive itself will be a feast for your eyes. Lava fields, distant summits, geothermal plant spitting out huge columns of steam. Simply stunning!
Hveragerði
Our first stop would be in Hveragerði when you can get some freshly brewed coffee and Icelandic sweets at a local bakery. In the same building, you can visit Earthquake Museum which simulates the earthquake that rolled over (under:) the south of Iceland in 2008.
Kerið
Now we will be traveling through fields, meadows and be crossing few glacial rivers until we stop at beautiful Kerið, a volcanic crater lake. You can have a walk around the ridges or even go down and touch the gleaming surface of the water.
Geysir
At Geysir, you will witness an eruption of hot water going almost 20 or so meters up into the air. The whole area is a geological wonder covered in steam coming from the geothermal activity – an experience you will never forget!
Gullfoss
When visiting the Gullfoss waterfall you will be stunned by the scale of this famous waterfall. Many cascades of fast pacing water dropping down to a canyon while producing amazing rainbows (with the right weather) is just a jaw-dropping experience! This is also a great place for lunch and for shopping. We can recommend the traditional Icelandic soup (there is always an option without meat): it will keep you full and warm for the rest of the day.
Þingvellir
Our last stop would be the famous Þingvellir. This is the oldest working parliament in the world. There you will walk on old battlegrounds where the Vikings fought among each other in countless battles. Þingvellir is also a place where 2 continents meet. Imagine yourself strolling through a canyon which walls are made from 2 tectonic plates: European and American. A truly remarkable experience!
After the last stop, we will drive to Reykjavik ( around 60 mins) and drop you off at your hotel (or the right bus stop)

After the pickup, the circle starts with a short stop at Hveragerdi Village. The second stop on the route is Kerid Volcanic Crater, a red picturesque crater in a beautiful area.We will make a few amazing stops along the way like famous Fridheimar greenhouse.
This will be a day to remember, packed with attractions, stories and good vibes! Our guides are really knowledgable and simply nice people. They will take care of you so you can get the best out of this tour. From there, our comfy Mercedes Sprinter minibus takes you to Geysir Geothermal Area. The area is literally a hot spot of boiling mud pools and hot spring, and the erupting Strokkur gets the biggest crowds, a geyser that jets out a 65 feet column of boiling water every 5 to 10 minutes. Next on the schedule is an attraction only a few minutes drive away, the most visited and most famous waterfall in Iceland, Gullfoss Waterfall. Formed in the glacier river Hvítá and dropping 105 feet in two stages, Gullfoss is a powerful attraction in a beautiful environment. The canyon walls surrounding the waterfall are up to 230 feet high. It is up to your guide whether the lunch break is at Geysir or Gullfoss, but both locations have multiple options for food, drinks, and snacks.
We do not forget to stop along the way to get acquainted with horses or to taste homemade ice cream in the Efstidalur II farm.
The last attraction on the schedule is Thingvellir National Park, an iconic and historic site, and the only UNESCO World Heritage site in Iceland. The main attraction is not the history but the terrific landscapes formed on the continental rift between the tectonic plates. You can walk through the area on save and comfortable walking paths. After the visit at Thingvellir it is time to go back to Reykjavik City, where your guide will drop you off at the original departure point.
