Drive the scenic Hvalfjörður Fjord before we reach the waterfall, Glymur and learn about the history and landscape. Glymur, the waterfall, falls 198 meters and used to be the highest waterfall in Iceland. Due to warming, a new and higher waterfall has appeared. Remember good shoes, prefereably hiking boots, waterproof clothes, snack, water bottle to fill, swimsuit and towel and your camera!

A challenging hike with some high cliffs.

9:00 AM – REYKJAVÍK
Pick up at your accommodation between 8.45 and 9.00 AM, or meet us at bus stop number 8, Hallgrímskirkja at 9.00 AM. We will start our journey by driving to the Hvalfjörður fjord where Glymur waterfall is situated.

GLYMUR HIKE
We hike few minutes from the car park, until we arrive to the river. We need to cross the river. The river has a tree trunk over it, and we cross it. The hike from there to the viewpoint is sometimes steep. The view from the top is amazing and rewarding. 

HVAMMSVÍK NATURE BATHS 

The Hvammsvík nature baths is a unique and authentic experience in unspoiled nature away from the crowds as you linger in eight natural hot springs that glide into the ocean surrounded by majestic mountains and black beaches. 

5:00 PM – REYKJAVÍK
We arrive in Reykjavík.

– Please bring good shoes, preferably hiking boots, warm and waterproof clothes. This is a challenging hike.

– Swimsuit & towel

– Remember water bottle to fill in the river.

– Lunch or snack. We will stop on the way to buy snack.

– A camera is always good to have.

Meet us at bus stop number 8, next to the big church Hallgrímskirkja, downtown.
