Dedicated 3-Day Service: Our service is specifically tailored for the classic 3-day Laugavegur itinerary, providing reliable transfers from Landmannalaugar to Álftavatn, Álftavatn to Emstrur, and Emstrur to Thórsmörk.
Morning Drop-off: Luggage must be ready at the designated collection point by 9:00 AM each morning. This ensures timely transfer to your next campsite.
Waterproof Protection is Key: Icelandic weather is famously unpredictable. We highly recommend using waterproof duffel bags or backpacks. For extra security, place critical items like sleeping bags and spare clothes in additional dry bags inside your main luggage.
Label Your Gear: Please clearly mark all your luggage with your name and the dates for each hut/campsite. Unmarked bags cannot be transported.
No Hard Suitcases or Fragile Packaging: For the safety of your belongings and the efficiency of our service on rough terrain, please refrain from using hard-sided suitcases, plastic bags, or cardboard boxes.

Day 1: Landmannalaugar to Álftavatn
- Morning: Arrive at Landmannalaugar.
- Before 9:00 AM: Ensure your main luggage is packed and ready at the designated Gear Express drop-off point at the Landmannalaugar campsite.
- Hike Begins: Set out from Landmannalaugar with your light daypack. Trek through the vibrant rhyolite mountains, past steaming hot springs, and over challenging terrain towards Hrafntinnusker, then descend to the scenic Álftavatn.
- Evening: Arrive at Álftavatn campsite. Your main luggage will be waiting for you, allowing you to set up camp and relax by the lake.
Day 2: Álftavatn to Emstrur
- Morning: Enjoy breakfast at Álftavatn.
- Before 9:00 AM: Drop off your main luggage at the designated Gear Express collection point by the Álftavatn hut/campsite.
- Hike Continues: Begin your trek from Álftavatn, traversing the vast black sand desert of Mælifellssandur. You’ll encounter river crossings and enjoy stark, dramatic landscapes.
- Evening: Reach Emstrur (Botnar) campsite. Your main luggage will be available for you to retrieve and prepare for your night.
Day 3: Emstrur to Thórsmörk
- Morning: Pack up at Emstrur.
- Before 9:00 AM: Leave your main luggage at the designated Gear Express collection point by the Emstrur Botnar hut/campsite. This is your final luggage transfer day.
- Hike to Thórsmörk: Embark on the last leg of your Laugavegur journey. The landscape gradually transitions from barren plains to the lush, green, and often forested valley of Thórsmörk, with views of glaciers and deep canyons.
- Afternoon: Arrive in Thórsmörk. Your main luggage will be at the designated pick-up location (e.g., Langidalur or Húsadalur), completing your unburdened trek.
