Gay-Bi City Walk & Happy Hour
A Weekly Tour
Reykjavik herstory, drinks included!
The tour that starts and ends with a drink (as all good tours should)
Discover how and where queer history in Reykjavík began, how the battle for equality has evolved through the years and where we are at now. See venues frequented by LGBTQIA+ people throughout the years and learn about the general history and outlook of the people who built Reykjavík and those who inhabit it today. The tour starts at the Pink Iceland office on Hverfisgata 39. Places visited include the old center of town where we see Parliament, Iceland's Cathedral, Hotel Borg, Iceland's first (and oldest) street, Reykjavík's oldest house (which used to house a gay bar) and many other sites of interest. We end the tour the a suitably glamorous bar where your guide will join you for a drink and finish the tour by going over Iceland´s LGBTQ+ history We welcome and encourage your questions during the tour. We're pretty knowledgeable about the city and if we don't know the answer we're good storytellers and can probably come up with an answer more interesting than the facts!
