Mývatn area is known for it´s natural beauty, volcanic landscapes, geothermal activity and a great place to see the northern lights in winter. You have the choice to be picked up at the airport in Akureyri or any location in the north of Iceland** and we drive you to the Fosshotel and do some sightseeing on the way, or you can meet us at the Fosshotel by lake Mývatn. This 3 night package includes accommodation at Fosshotel Mývatn* with Breakfast included and tours and activities of your choice included during your stay. The activity and tour options are almost endless they include: Dettifoss waterfall, Northern lights tour, Husky Dog sledding, Snowshoeing, Nordic Skiing, Snowmobile tour, Fat Bike tour, bathing in the Mývatn Nature Baths, Buggy Tour just to name a few. Our guide will go over the activities and tour options upon arrival at the hotel. If you like to stay longer you do have the option of extending you stay and adding nights as you see fit depending on room availability. During your stay your personal guide will be available to you to assist in any way possible to make your stay enjoyable and answer any questions you may have. We offer a shuttle service that you can use and we can drive you to and from any location in the Mývatn area during your stay for a minimal fee.

Fosshotel Mývatn,  opened 1st of July 2017, and offers 92 rooms in wonderful surroundings at the north end of Lake Mývatn, within 100 km from the Akureyri Airport. The hotel is designed by award-winning architects and features almost exclusively low-environmental impact materials. The building is low-rise, clad with larch wood and has a grass roof which harmonizes perfectly harmony with the nature surrounding it. This spectacular hotel offers standard rooms, lake view rooms and suites. On the ground floor you will find a wonderful restaurant with the perfect view over the lake and seating for up to 120 people.
