Christmas garden in Eyjafjörður is a must see when you visit Akureyri !
We start driving through the beautiful old town of Akureyri and then we drive along the coastline of the fjord to the Christmas house where we find a Christmas melodies and aroma in the air and the fire glows and crackles in the fireplace. The fairy-tale tower house is the world’s biggest Christmas calendar and it’s worth climbing the stairs for. In the little house there is pleasant smell of smoked mutton, hangikjöt and the unique hand carved cakes. And who knows if you see the Icelandic yule lads and their terrible parents Grýla and Leppalúði hiding somewhere around. We stop in Kaffi Kú coffe house installed above the cowshed on the second floor. On our way back we stop for some sightseeing where you can see over the fjord to Akureyri.
