Immerse yourself in the wilderness and discover history on this moderate yet exciting E-Bike Tour of the Víknaslóðir Wilderness

In this tour, we follow an F-road into Afrétt, where the sheep roam wild and the reindeer ramble. This track takes us literally off the grid. Unplug from your feed and experience the profound quiet of the Icelandic landscape. Discover a world of different colours when you ride along the trail, which meanders through valleys of glacially carved rhyolite, similar to the famous Landmannalaugar landscape. When we crest the first hill we take a small detour to take a look at the famous and colourful Mt. Hvítserkur, one of the oldest mountains in Iceland.

As we descend through valleys decorated with the silver threads of endless waterfalls, we come upon a wide open black sand beach, peppered with colourful rhyolite pebbles. Our final ascent takes us up to a height of 500 meters, where, weather permitting, we receive breathtaking panoramic views of the Víknaslóðir Wilderness, Borgarfjörður eystri, mountains, valleys and sea.

Included in this tour is a quality E-Bike and helmet. Gloves can be provided if requested. Your guide carries a backpack with essential equipment for field maintenance and first aid.

Please bring everything you think you will need for this ride.

You should wear appropriate clothing for the weather on the day. Rain gear is essential during wet days. Gloves are recommended as well as a light cap or buff to keep your head warm.
