Glacier Hiking & Ice Climbing Day Tour from Reykjavík to Sólheimajökull Glacier
Tour Details
We will pick you up from your designated pick up location and head to the South Coast straightaway.
On our way to the glacier you will be able to visit Seljalandsfoss waterfall as well as Skogafoss. Both of them are among the better known waterfalls in Iceland, and when you see them you will know why! Don´t forget to walk behind Seljalandsfoss to snap some amazing pictures.
This tour offers the opportunity to hike the amazing glacial tongue from Sólheimajökull glacier.
You will start the tour meeting your guide at Sólheimajökull´s parking lot, where we will provide you with all the tools you will need: ice axes, crampons and safety lines.
Then we head to the glacier, you will have time to gear on with your crampons and the hike starts!
You will be able to witness some breathtaking panoramic views, as well as crevasses , ridges and even an ice wall where you will have an introduction to ice climbing and will be able to experience it first hand. Finally we head back to Reykjavík where you will be dropped off for a good night´s sleep!
