Enjoy the 2026 Iceland Total Solar Eclipse from the best vantage point possible

On August 12th, 2026, a long-awaited celestial event will be seen from western Iceland – the country's first total solar eclipse since 1954.

BusTravel Iceland is offering a special tour focusing on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, where we will seek out the best possible viewing location for the eclipse – along the way, we will visit some of the region´s prime attractions – Kirkjufell mountain, Arnarstapi, and much more.

  • Professional guide
  • Free WiFi
  • Eclipse glasses

  • Warm, water- and windproof clothing are always useful in Iceland.
  • Packed lunch
  • All tickets are e-tickets so there is no need to print them out.

  • A 100% charge applies if canceled within 2 days of the start time.

Please note

  • The duration of the tour is 12 hours
  • There is no food included on this tour. As the area will be very busy on this day, and we don' t have an exact schedule, we recommend bringing lunch packs with you – we will make a stop at a grocery store in Borgarnes early in the day.
  • As we cannot guarantee clear skies in any one location, the schedule and stops can change at short notice
