Make a short stop in Hvolsvöllur for coffee, refreshments and access to facilities before continuing along the South Coast.
Visit Skógafoss, a powerful waterfall dropping approximately 60 metres from Iceland’s former sea cliffs. Walk close to the waterfall or climb the staircase for panoramic views from above.
Explore Reynisfjara, known for its black volcanic sand, basalt columns and the Reynisdrangar sea stacks rising from the Atlantic Ocean.
Visitors must remain well away from the water because the waves can be unpredictable and dangerous.
Stop in Vík, Iceland’s southernmost village, surrounded by black sand beaches, mountains and dramatic coastal landscapes.
Depending on available time and conditions, visit the hilltop Vík Church viewpoint for panoramic views over the village and the surrounding coastline.
Stop among the vast moss-covered lava landscapes of Eldhraun, formed during one of Iceland’s largest historic volcanic eruptions.
This stop is optional and depends on available time, daylight and weather conditions.
Visit Jökulsárlón, where icebergs break away from the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier and drift slowly across the lagoon toward the ocean.
Enjoy time to walk along the shore and observe the constantly changing ice formations.
Cross to Diamond Beach, where pieces of glacial ice wash ashore and create a striking contrast against the black volcanic sand.
The amount and size of the ice on the beach vary naturally with tides and weather conditions.
Visit Seljalandsfoss on the return journey. When weather and trail conditions allow, visitors can walk behind the waterfall.
Visit Gljúfrabúi, a partially hidden waterfall located inside a narrow canyon near Seljalandsfoss.
This stop is optional and depends on available time and conditions. Access inside the canyon may be wet and slippery.
We offer flexible and convenient pick-up services to start your private tour. We can begin your journey from any location in the Reykjavik area, including hotels and guesthouses.
