The show begins with a short welcome by the host and then a short educational video about Icelandic volcanism, the volcanoes close by – with special emphasis on Katla volcano – and how the surrounding volcanoes have affected the locals throughout the ages. They even give you a personal story and tell you the evacuation plan in case Katla were to erupt right there and then!
Once the lava starts flowing into the showroom, the host literally starts PLAYING WITH THE LAVA! The host manipulates the lava with an iron rod, creating Pele's hair and tears, a miniature lava tunnel, a little lava cave and explains everything about what's happening as it goes. It is such an intimate, educational and entertaining experience and so different from everything else you've ever experienced, that you can't help feel in awe. And after the show, you truly see the rest of Iceland with different eyes and a newfound appreciation for nature. It really is a must see experience.

Getting up close and personal to real flowing lava is a bucket-list item for many. However, volcanoes are both dangerous and unpredictable and when they erupt you can rarely get anywhere close to red-hot lava. LAVA SHOW lost dit probleem op en maakt het echt mogelijk om veilig van dichtbij en persoonlijk naar echte lava te gaan.
LAVA SHOW is the only show of its kind in the world. By superheating real lava and then pouring it into a showroom full of people, it is a chance to see, smell, hear, and feel the intense heat that radiates from the red-hot lava.
LAVA SHOW is an incredible, unforgettable experience. First, the live host welcomes the guest, explains what’s about to happen, and goes over the security details. Then a short educational video takes you through a journey of Icelandic volcano history, focuses in on one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world, Katla volcano (which happens to be the closest volcano to the town of Vík) and tells a compelling and personal story from the 1918 Katla eruption. At last, it’s the highlight of the show, when the red-hot lava of 1100°C (2000°F) flows into the showroom. In an instant, the showroom heats up to a toasty temperature. In the safety of their seat just a short distance from the flowing lava, the audience watches as the lava flows into the room. Then, the lava host starts playing with the lava, manipulating it, while explaining what is happening. It truly is a sensational experience!

We adviseren mensen om er minstens 10 minuten voor de show te zijn, zich te oriënteren en vóór de show onze cadeauwinkel te bekijken.
Het wordt HEET in de showroom als de lava binnenstroomt, zodat mensen wordt geadviseerd om wat lagen kleding te verwijderen voordat de show begint. De show is een veilige ervaring en de hitte zou geen probleem moeten zijn, maar zwangere vrouwen, mensen met baby's en mensen met hart- en vaatziekten wordt aanbevolen om voor de zekerheid op de tweede rij en/of dicht bij de uitgang te zitten.
Iedereen wordt geadviseerd om tijdens de show te allen tijde zijn veiligheidsbril aan te houden als er lava in de showroom staat, vooral als deze afkoelt en stolt.
