The remote Westfjords are Iceland at its wildest and most untouched — a dramatic claw of land shaped by towering sea cliffs, hairpin fjord roads and thundering waterfalls. Summer is strongly recommended, as many roads are gravel and can close in winter weather. Látrabjarg's puffins are present roughly mid-May to early August.
