Even when the earth is quiet, the scale of these newborn landscapes is a powerful reminder of the forces still at work beneath the surface.

The Details

This flight tracks the evolution of the most significant eruption sites in the southwest, specifically the Fagradalsfjall and Sundhnúkur areas. We navigate the shifting volcanic systems to show you how cooling lava and deep fissures have fundamentally altered the terrain near the Blue Lagoon and Grindavík. While volcanic activity is unpredictable, seeing these fresh geological formations from a pilot’s perspective is an extraordinary experience in any season.

A 100% charge applies if canceled within 2 days of the start time.
A 50% charge applies if canceled within 7 days of the start time.
A 10% charge applies if canceled within 14 days of the start time.

Please note

– Volcanic activity is a natural and unpredictable phenomenon. We can never guarantee visible or flowing red lava, but the volcanic craters and fresh lava fields are spectacular to see from above even without an active eruption.

– Icelandic weather is famously unpredictable and can change quickly. Safety is our absolute priority, and all flight decisions are made with this in mind.

Alternative Routes: If conditions prevent us from taking the planned path, we will offer an alternative route.
Flexibility: We are often able to postpone the flight by a few hours until the weather passes or reschedule to a different date, subject to availability.
Cancellations: If we must cancel due to weather and rescheduling is not an option, we will issue a 100% refund.
