Our South Coast tour will take you on a journey through some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the country, including stunning waterfalls like Seljalandsfoss and Skógafos, the Black Sand Beach with its dramatic basalt columns and powerful waves, Dyrhólaey promontory with its light house and a massive arch in the ocean.

Next, we will head to Skógafoss, one of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls, and the lesser-known but equally beautiful Kvernufoss. In the same area we’re having lunch in a local restaurant.
Next, we will visit Reynisfjara, a black sand beach with incredible basalt columns and the Reynisdrangar sea stacks.
Our final stop will be at Dyrhólaey, a massive cliff with its lighthouse and a natural arch in the ocean.

For a South Coast tour, it would be a good idea for travellers to bring a small backpack to carry essentials such as a camera, extra layers of clothing, gloves, snacks and drinks. Comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots would also be recommended. Additionally, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat or other head covering can be useful to protect from the sun. A rain jacket or poncho may also be useful during the waterfall sightseeing, it’s really common to get some drizzle on you, or in case of inclement weather. It's also recommended to bring a refillable water bottle as well as a power bank or extra battery for electronic devices.

Seljalandsfoss es una hermosa cascada que mide 60 metros de altura y está ubicada en el río Seljalands.
Podemos caminar detrás de la cascada para tener una perspectiva única.
Gljufrabui is a hidden waterfall located just a short walk from Seljalandsfoss, nestled in a narrow canyon.
Skógafoss is a powerful waterfall that cascades down from a height of 60 meters, creating a beautiful rainbow on sunny days.
La cascada está rodeada de exuberante vegetación y una ruta de senderismo que conduce a la cima de la caída.
Kvernufoss, which is located close to Skógafoss, is a smaller but equally impressive waterfall that is often less crowded and offers a unique view of its own valley from behind.
After visiting the two waterfalls around the village, we’ll stop for lunch in a local restaurant that offers a blend of Icelandic traditional dishes and other international recipes. Among your choices from their menu, you can choose between Icelandic meat soup, delicious local meat, fish or their special burgers made from local beef. Also veggie options are available.
The fourth stop is Reynisfjara and the Black Sand Beach. The beach is known for its unique black sand, created by volcanic eruptions, as well as its basalt columns, caves, and Reynisdrangar, that are basalt sea stacks that rise from the ocean just off the shore.
The beach offers a great opportunity for photography and a chance to witness the raw power of nature.
The black sand beach is a unique place that shows the dramatic impact of volcanic activity on the landscape.
Dyrhólaey is a 120-meter high promontory located on the south coast of Iceland. The area is known for its impressive cliffs, archway, and black sand beaches on its eastern and western sides. It is a popular spot for birdwatching, as it’s home to many species of seabirds, including puffins during the summer months. We’ll take a short hike to the top of the promontory for panoramic views of the surrounding coastline and the nearby Mýrdalsjökull glacier. Time dedicated to visit this location is 40 minutes; the remaining time is to reach it from the previous location.
After the amazing experience around the south coast, it’s time to drive back to Reykjavík.
