The Experience

From the moment the skids leave the ground, the perspective shifts. This flight is designed to take you from the city’s edge to the high-altitude silence of the nearest ice caps. It is a journey through Iceland’s rawest elements where the dark, jagged lines of volcanic rock meet the clean, white expanse of the glacier. Whether viewing the snow-covered peaks from above or stepping out for a remote landing, the scale of the landscape is a powerful reminder of the nature of the North.

Departing from Reykjavík, this expedition targets the «órisjökull glacier and the mountains just beyond the city’s reach. We navigate past the vertical cliffs of Hvalfjörður and the elusive Cascada Glymur before heading toward the ice. The flight also traces the skyline of the Skjaldbreiður volcano and the «ingvellir rift valley, allowing you to see the fracture in the earth where the tectonic plates continue their slow divide.

Calzado: Sturdy hiking or winter boots are recommended, as our landings often take place on uneven mountain terrain or snow.
Layers: We suggest wearing several warm layers regardless of the season.
Cabin Comfort: The helicopter is heated; you are welcome to store large winter coats in our baggage compartment during the flight.
