Glymur waterfall is Iceland´s second highest and with its height of almost 200 meters it is an awesome and spectacular sight. After the underwater traffic tunnel under Hvalfjörður (Whale fjord) opened in 1998 it has become a more secluded place as most tourists and natives do not drive past it as the modern human has places to go and places to be, and today the sight is a well kept secret.
Reykjavik Outventure specializes in small group tours. Our team are big nature lovers that love to hike and show travellers our spectacular nature. We have put some of Icelands best activities in one tour for you to get the most out of your stay here in Iceland. Come and join us on this 9 hour day tour from Reykjavik where you hike up to one of Icelands most magnificent waterfalls, soak geothermal swimming pool afterwards & enjoy.
Tour Description
One of our awesome guides will pick you up at your hotel or closest bus stops(see bus stops here)and set off from Reykjavik and head out to Hvalfjordur, a drive that takes around an hour or a little less so there is plenty of time to ask your local guide anything you may be wondering about this small and mysterious nation, and the hipsters that inhabit it. HÚH! (Viking clap) When we get to the foothills we tie our shoes and make our way up the mountain and the hike itself takes around an hour and a half. On top of Glymur waterfall itself a short rest will be taken to have packed lunch and enjoy the view over Whale Fjord.
After the hike, you will head to Icelands largest hot spring where we have built luxury bathing facilities. Iceland is so rich of geothermal hot water and Icelanders have been using it for centuries to bathe and regenerate sore muscles, which you will definitely feel on your legs and feet after the hike. After the bath you will feel reborn and your guide will take you back to your hotel and with a 100 percent battery charge in your body you are sure to grab Reykjavik´s famous night life by the throat.
