Diving in Silfra
A Day-Tour in crystal clear glacial water
Silfra, a lava fissure filled with crystal clear glacial water, is counted among the top five dive sites in the world by many prominent dive publications. Silfra is best known for its 120 meter underwater visibility and for being the only place in the world where you can dive between two continental plates. On this dive, you will be able to place one hand on the North American continental plate and the other on the Eurasian continental plate. If you are a certified dry suit diver, this is a must-dive site!

The tour starts when we pick you up at your hotel in Reykjavik.
If you have your own transport, you can also meet us at the Tourist Information Center in Thingvellir National Park.
The drive to Thingvellir takes 45-60 minutes.
- your SCUBA dive certification card (PADI Open Water or equivalent)
- proof of dry suit certification or 10 logged dry suit dives within two years of tour date
- long underwear
- thick socks
- suitable clothes for the weather of the day
- If over the age of 60 year old, then please bring a Physicians approval that you are fit to dive.
We will meet you at Silfra at the time stated above on this ticket, please be 15 minutes early. If you arrive after the tour time and miss your tour, no refund can be offered. A map at the meeting point at Silfra can be seen HERE. Please note that it takes about an hour to drive to Silfra from Reykjavik. Please note that your parking lot is P5, about a 5 minutes walk down the road from Silfra. The National Park charges a fee for car parking to be paid at myparking.is Please BRNG: your diving certification card, dry suit diving certification or written proof of 10 day suit dives within the last two years, long thermal underwear and two pairs of thick wool socks.
