En route, we’ll pause for a caffeine fix at Hvolsvöllur, the perfect pit stop to fuel up for the day ahead.
Our expedition then takes us towards the legendary Thorsmork, with an exhilarating stop at Gígjökull glacier, an outlet glacier of the famed Eyjafjallajökull volcano. Feel the icy embrace as you walk right up to the glacier’s edge, witnessing firsthand the aftermath of the monumental 2010 eruption that halted air traffic across Europe. Prepare to be awestruck by the raw power of nature as you explore this living testament to Iceland’s geological wonders.
But the adventure doesn’t stop there. Dive into the realm of fantasy as we visit Stakkholtsgjá canyon, a filming location from the legendary Game of Thrones series. Immerse yourself in the mystical ambiance of this 2-kilometer-long natural wonder, flanked by towering moss-covered cliffs.
