Glacier Hike & Jokulsarlon Kayaking

Difficulty: 2/5, easy.

Tour Highlights: Small Group Experience, Glacier Lagoon Kayaking, Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, Guided Glacier Hike, Falljokull Glacier, Vatnajokull Glacier.

Kayaking on Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon

You will meet us at Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon parking lot so we can have a security briefing and clear any doubts you might have. Next we will go straight to the lagoon where your guide will give you a paddling demonstration to make sure you are totally comfortable and off we go!

You will be paddling through, without a doubt, the most beautiful body of water in Iceland, surrounded by icebergs and who knows, maybe you can spot a seal or two.
You will spend one hour kayaking with your guide, who will also tell you all about what´s around you so you don´t miss out on anything.

Glacier Hike on Falljokull Glacier

We will meet at the Arctic Adventures´ Base Camp located at the Skaftafell Parking Lot. Then we will drive shortly up to the starting point of our hike.
You will be hiking in Falljokull, which lies at the south of Vatnajokull, Europe´s largest glacier. You will be rewarded with stunning views almost immediately, while your guide shares lots of interesting information.
If you want fun, education and natural beauty, then a glacier hike is an absolute must!

Glacier Equipment

We recommend that you wear warm clothing, including – warm top and bottom layers, warm headwear, gloves, a scarf, and a waterproof top layer. It is unlikely, but possible, that you’ll get wet during the kayaking portion of the tour, meaning that a change of clothes will be useful.

Sturdy hiking shoes with ankle support are strongly recommended.
