HIKE IN THORSMORK NATURE RESERVE
Þórsmörk (Thorsmork) Nature Reserve is among Iceland’s most stunning landscapes, celebrated for its striking mountains, glacier vistas, hidden waterfalls, dramatic canyons, and serene birch forests. To us locals, it holds a special place—an ideal setting for hiking, connecting with nature, and soaking in the unique energy of a valley nestled between three glaciers.
This tour is perfect for those looking to explore less-traveled trails with a local guide. At Midgard, we embrace the concept of slow travel, believing that the most memorable adventures are personal. Your guide will lead you to their cherished spots, share captivating sagas and stories, and reveal what makes Þórsmörk so meaningful to Icelanders.
Every hike is customized to match the day’s conditions, ensuring a unique experience on every tour. The routes range from 6 to 12 kilometers, with 3 to 4 hours of hiking. Elevation gains vary between 350 and 800 meters.
