Our driver will pick you up and take you on a trip where you can explore some the interesting and historical places in Reykjavik. We will visit Höfði, Sólfarið (the Sun Voyager Sculpture), Harpa Concert Hall, The old harbour, Grótta, Hallgrímskirkja church, The Pearl, Árbær, Elliðaárdalur (Elliða river valley), and Laugardalur valley and park.

Höfði, a house that is believed to be a haunted house but is most but is most famous for the meeting of American president Ronald Reagan and Russian president Mikhail Gorbatsjov in 1986.

Sólfarið, the Sun Voyager Sculpture is a large steel sculpture, located by the seaside of central Reykjavík. The artist Jón Gunnar Árnason intended it to convey the promise of undiscovered territory, a dream of hope, progress and freedom.

Harpa Concert Hall is one of Reykjavik‘s greatest and most distinguished landmarks and famous for its award-winning architecture. It features stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the North Atlantic Ocean.

The old harbour is the heart of Reykjavík. The city grew up around the harbour. It is still one of the most important harbors in Iceland. The excellent natural harbour was no doubt one of the reasons the first settler of Iceland, Ingólfur Arnarson, chose to settle in Reykjavík. There you can visit stores, cafés, and museums which provide a glimpse into Icelandic history and culture.

Grótta. There you will find unique nature with diverse bird life. A lighthouse was first built in Grótta in 1897. The current lighthouse was built half a century later, in 1947.

Hallgrímskirkja church The church is named after the 17th-century clergyman Hallgrímur Pétursson, author of Hymns of the Passion. Its stepped concrete facade is an ode to modernism and a reminder of the Icelandic landscape and inspired by the basalt lava columns. from its tower you get a great view of the city Perlan, the pearl sitting on top of Öskjuhlíð hill, with 360° views all over the capital area.

the pearl has something for everyone. The National Museum of Icelandic Nature has a fun exhibition at Perlan, called Water in Icelandic nature. You experience the forces of volcanoes and Iceland’s geological history, explore the life in a realistic replica of Europe’s largest bird cliff, see the oceanic wonders of Iceland, and more. It houses a 4K planetarium, a real indoor ice cave, an ice cream shop, a lovely café, bouncy castles with fun trials, a 360° viewing platform.

Árbær. This living museum takes you on a journey through time. Árbær was an established farm well into the 20th century, and the museum opened there in 1957. Árbær is now an open air museum with more than 20 buildings. Most of the buildings have been relocated from central Reykjavik. Reykjavík´s early history and traditional crafts is preserved in the restored homes. Outside you might come across Icelandic domestic animals such as sheep and horses.

Elliðaárdalur –Elliðaárdalurinn is one of the largest green areas within the urban center of Reykjavík. It is also one of the most popular areas for outdoor activities. Elliðaá is a salmon fishing river and an important spawning ground for Icelandic salmon. The old power station was built in 1921. On June 27, 1921, there was a revolution in the quality of life of Reykjavík residents when the power station in Elliðaárdalur was taken into use. The old power station is a unique building and a source for the history of electricity in Iceland.

Laugardalur – Laugardalur is one of the main centers of sports activities in Reykjavik. The Botanical Garden is located in the heart of the valley. Family Park and Zoo is popular with families, and there are all the Icelandic domestic animals and the some wild animals such as foxes, reindeer and seals. In Laugardalur there is geothermal heat and is a historical location for being the place where locals used to wash their laundry.

Bessastaðir stands on Álftanes on the outskirts of the capital. Around is a wetland with a lot of bird life. It is the official residence of the President of Iceland. It is among the oldest buildings made of cemented stones in the country. There has been a church in Bessastaðir since the year 1000.
