Stops on this tour:
Our journey begins in Reykjavík, where we depart on a scenic route that starts with picturesque Icelandic farmland for the first 150 kilometers. However, the true adventure awaits as we venture into a volcanic landscape reminiscent of a desert, spanning over 30 kilometers before reaching the extraordinary Landmannalaugar. En route, we will encounter powerful geysers and glacial streams, further enhancing the distinctive beauty of this destination.
Crossing rivers and navigating rugged gravel roads en route to Landmannalaugar will provide an unforgettable experience. Along the way, we will make a stop at a Crater Lake, Ljótipollur, which was formed in 1477 and now boasts a cobalt-blue lake. Our journey continues to Lake Frostastaðavatn, before finally arriving at our main destination.
Upon reaching Landmannalaugar, we will have the opportunity to explore for 2-3 hours, embarking on a beautiful hike. After approximately an hour of hiking, you can unwind and relax in a natural hot spring. Alternatively, you may choose to explore the area independently, taking in the remarkable sights.
On our way back, we will take the Dómadalur route, winding through lava fields and in between mountains. Along this route, we will cross numerous rivers, providing an exhilarating experience. Additionally, we will see more waterfalls, further adding to the adventure.
Little Extra Touch – As a family-owned company, we prioritize crafting personalized experiences, ensuring every journey is memorable. Expect a little extra touch as we tailor the tour to include various local highlights, depending on the time, weather, and overall mood.
