The day begins at Midhraun Lava Resort  in South Snæfellsnes peninsula, where the group gets in a bus that takes us to Grundarfjörður, more precisely to Grundarfoss waterfall, where the walk over Lýsuskarð trail begins. Guests get energy-rich snacks for the walk and the magnificence of Grundarfoss waterfall sends us off. The hike is most challenging at the beginning, as you have to walk steeply, but this is otherwise a difficult walk, 13 km long, max elevation of 604 meters above sea level. We walk in between mountain slopes and peaks, an old national road threaded along valleys and canyons directly over Snæfellsnes, from north to south. The guide tells about geology and folk sagas at the beginning of the trip and on the way, but there is a lot to see on the way and we give ourselves plenty of time to enjoy. Finally, the group descends from Lýsuskarð canyon itself and ends up at Lýsulaugar mineral algae baths,  where drinks and refreshments await them from Hlaðan, Midhrauni Lava Resort´s restaurant. Hikers relax after the hike and enjoy their food outside in God’s green nature. There after they go to Lýsulaugar mineral algae baths , which are famous for its healthy geothermical water full of minerals. The guests relax in the pool and hot tubs and then finally head back to Midhraun Lava Resort again where the group is welcomed with cocktails by the lava bed and the day ends with a delicious three-course meal in Hlaðan restaurant .
