The journey begins with a pick-up from your Reykjavik hotel, after which we travel north through the underwater tunnel that connects Reykjavik and Akranes.

After a brief stop in the picturesque village of Borgarnes where you can pick up some food and snacks for the trip from a local bakery, we make our way to Buðir's famous black church, a magnificent structure that stands alone amid an old lava field. 

On the way, you will have a nice view of Bjarnarfoss, a beautiful waterfall falling behind a farmhouse.

An easy path extends down the shoreline from Arnarstapi's natural harbor, providing wonderful photo opportunities of the cliff and the surrounding scenery.

This used to be a famous place for sailors and fishermen to camp on their way out to sea. Today, you may put your strength to the test by lifting boulders, which were originally used by these guys to determine their strength and win a position on the boats.

We make a stop at Lóndrangar to observe two spectacular lava formations said to be trolls transformed into rock while fishing. From the vantage point, you can also see the picturesque Malariff lighthouse, one of many on the peninsula, in its breathtaking setting surrounded by the massive waves of the Atlantic.

We then visit Saxhóll, an inactive volcano crater in the middle of a spectacular lava field. A staircase leads you to the top of the crater, from where you can have great views of he surroundings and of the inside of the crater itself.
