Our Private Luxury Snæfellsnes Peninsula Jeep Tour takes you on a journey through Snæfellsnes, a fascinating peninsula in West Iceland just a couple of hours' drive from Reykjavik that awes visitors with its diverse landscapes, which include moss-covered lava fields, beautiful cliffs, and even a world-famous glacier.

The journey begins with a pick-up from your Reykjavik hotel, after which we travel north through the underwater tunnel that connects Reykjavik and Akranes.

After a brief stop in the picturesque village of Borgarnes where you can pick up some food and snacks for the trip from a local bakery, we make our way to Buðir's famous black church, a magnificent structure that stands alone amid an old lava field.

On the way, you will have a nice view of Bjarnarfoss, a beautiful waterfall falling behind a farmhouse.

Our luxury tour continues to Arnarstapi, a small once-thriving fishing village stunningly located at the foot of Snæfellsjökull, a glacier-topped volcano known for being featured in Jules Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth. The village of Arnarstapi is famous for its cliffs and lava formations that are home to a variety of bird species in the summer months. An easy path extends down the shoreline from Arnarstapi's natural harbor, providing wonderful photo opportunities of the cliff and the surrounding scenery.

Our Private Luxury Snfellsnes Peninsula Jeep Tour continues to one of the peninsula's and the country's most stunning and dramatic beaches, Djúpalónssandur, which is distinguished by its black pebble beach and breathtaking rock formations. This used to be a famous place for sailors and fishermen to camp on their way out to sea. Today, you may put your strength to the test by lifting boulders, which were originally used by these guys to determine their strength and win a position on the boats.

We make a stop at Lóndrangar to observe two spectacular lava formations said to be trolls transformed into rock while fishing. From the vantage point, you can also see the picturesque Malariff lighthouse, one of many on the peninsula, in its breathtaking setting surrounded by the massive waves of the Atlantic.

We then visit Saxhóll, an inactive volcano crater in the middle of a spectacular lava field. A staircase leads you to the top of the crater, from where you can have great views of he surroundings and of the inside of the crater itself.

Kirkjufell, one of Iceland's most distinctive mountains, attracts people's attention with its unusual shape and is a fantastic stop on our Private Luxury Jeep Tour of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Kirkjufellsfoss, a little waterfall on the opposite side of the road from the mountain, is a popular sight to visit since it allows you to snap excellent shots of the mountain from there.

If time allows and you are adventurous enough, we may make an extra visit to the shark museum, where you can learn about the fermentation process and perhaps sample fermented shark meat, a traditional Icelandic food of the old days.

This tour is perfect if you want to see a bit of everything that Iceland has to offer in just one day in luxury and comfort.

After our exploration of the gorgeous Snæfellsnes Peninsula, we drive you back to your hotel in Reykjavik, where this incredible private luxury tour will come to a conclusion.
