It's an ideal choice for those who don't want to rent a car or join a bus tour with other tourists, and want to make the most of their visit to this enchanting region of the land of ice and fire.
Itinerary:
Embark on a personalized adventure through the Golden Circle with an experienced guide who will pick you up in Reykjavík and take you on a comfortable journey in a private vehicle.
Your first stop will be Þingvellir National Park, a site with historical and geographic significance where the Eurasian and North-American tectonic plates meet, forming a continental rift valley with remarkable cracks and fissures.
This location was also home to the first parliament of Iceland, Althingi. While walking along Almannagjá Gorge, you'll be in the midst of two worlds and learn about the chieftains who once made laws and settled feuds in this valley.
Next, you'll head to Haukadalur, a geothermal valley housing the Great Geysir and its active neighbor, Strokkur. Boiling water shoots high into the sky every 10 minutes, surrounded by mud pools, hot vents, and fumaroles. You'll have a chance to snack before moving onto the Golden Circle's namesake: Gullfoss, also known as the Golden Falls. The impressive two-tiered waterfall cascades into a canyon with unharnessed power that can be experienced up close from the viewing platform.
Our journey continues with a visit to either Faxi, a small and beautiful waterfall, or Kerið, a 3000-year-old crater lake nestled in the middle of a volcano. Your adventure will end here, and it will be time to head back to Reykjavik.
This private tour is an excellent choice for those who want to avoid crowds and make the most of their Golden Circle visit without renting a car or joining a bus tour.
