The National Gallery of Iceland – One ticket two locations

The National Gallery of Iceland, located in the heart of Reykjavík, offers a rich experience of Icelandic visual art from the  late 18th century to today. The museum operates in two landmark buildings:

The National gallery, by the city pond, features a vibrant program of temporary exhibitions with both Icelandic and international artists. Visitors can also enjoy a visit to Kaktus Espressobar and the museum store that offers an eclectic range of items inspired by the museum’s collection.

At The House of Collections, a permanent exhibition highlights treasures from the National Gallery’s collection, spanning from the late 18th century to contemporary times. The exhibition is housed in one of Reykjavík’s architectural gems from the early 20th century.

Together, these two spaces offer a broad and engaging look at the past and present of Icelandic art in an inspiring setting.
